As we design more and more with BIM, we are building up information that will be the prime target of merchants and manufacturers, who are currently still using old selling and marketing practices, but as soon as they work out the rich store of information our BIM models can provide, they will abandon the glenigans of this world and rush into the easy to understand world of electronic drawing.
Privately stored models will be hard to access, but one way will be for them to offer storage of the models, and once they do this, then access is created.
