Facebook Page

001_FacebookFor so long I have been rejecting the idea that I will ever use a Facebook Page for my CPD links, but in recent weeks, I have been trying it out and its so easy to post a link, article or just a comment, so I am going to step up and give it a go for a few more weeks, all I do I hope will be posted here, via the great program iFTTT, which will monitor what I post and list it here.

The address for the Konstrukshon CPD web page on Facebook is :

Facebook

Or search for “Konstrukshon CPD”

Please check it out, and post any comments or even repost

I some time wonder if Technology, that is computer technology and me were ever ment to meet, so this is a blog to test my latest twitter feed update has worked, and I’m glad to say it has, so every blog will produce a twitter feed, something I wanted to achieve ages ago.

This completes most of my basic social network feeds, Google+, twitter, Linkedin and facebook. All being fed by my Konstrukshon CPD weblog page.

Don’t forget, I will host a tech hangout every Friday at 3 pm, call in to chat, moan, find out something, anything to do with Architectural Technology. follow me on Google + “+stevescaysbrook”

Architectural Technologist – Video Style

Image representing Vimeo as depicted in CrunchBase

Image via CrunchBase

I like this video, not for the subject, although interesting, its the video style I like and find interesting. As a technologist we are going to have to use this technology, one way or another in our work, and this simple yet effective style might work for one of your projects to describe a detail perhaps. It’s on Vimeo click and follow back to see more from Jean-Jacques Parys, who is obviously adding a lot of his degree work online, in the hope that it will get hm noticed or find work. But what ever, its an excellent portfolio, one you might want to copy.

Architectural Technologist – Facebook Data Centre

Image representing Robert Scoble as depicted i...

Image via CrunchBase

This review of the Facebook Data centre is interesting, not because its facebook, or the fact I spend far to much time watching my friends, family and distant relatives, but because of the innovative way they have gone about lowering the energy imput required to run the place. Get through the first minute of the film its just a push for cloud technology, but the music is good, and get to the bit where Tom Furlong start to talk, this is the interesting bit, he describes the way they cool the building, and the very high area of the total site devoted to this, and the way they have used LED lights and sensor to switch on and of lights as people entra an area.

But the real innovation in this buildings design is the evaporative cooling system, from the intake of water its cleaning and use, plus the way the air flows through the upper levels and gets cooled, and then flows dow though a great big hole in the slab to the data centre. Its not a long video, but its very interesting, look at both the detailing in the background as well as the design, the flow charts are also quite good.

In all I think this is wrth at least 1 hour CPD with all the research I will do checking other reports, by the look of it, Scoble was not the only journalist on the tour so theres more information and comment out there to find.. The links below are a start.
